I voted Enrique because he was the leader of Bravo team and second in command in S.T.A.R.S, so he must be good at something.

Probably skilled in battle and the aptitude of leading a team.

supposedly Enrique was as skilled as chris, but was worried chris or barry might replace him.

what you said is right birkin  , in the game it is underlined many times that enrico thought barry or chris wanted to kill him, he wasn't suspecting about wesker's betrayal. That's why wesker killed him so easily 

what is strange is: WESKER SHOT REBECCA TOO ON HER BREAST, AND SHE SAVED DUE TO JACKET. ENRICO WAS WEARING THAT TOO (AND IT'S OBVIOUS), SO WHY HE DIED?  SERIOUS MISTAKES CAPCOM DOES   

Maybe Enrique wasn't , and maybe he escaped the mansion, and maybe he joined umbrella, and worked with wesker, and then tries to kill eveyone! DUN DUN DUUUNNN!
